Everyone wants a good skin care tip. Here’s one about water.

We’ve written before about the importance of drinking water in your diet. And as we’ve been asked for some good skin care tips we thought we’d offer a few tips. One actually.

Now of course there are some excellent skin care products available, and we personally believe that the best skin care tip is to use Xtend Life natural skin care products. However as well as using good skin care products there are other things that you can do to improve your chances of having youthful looking healthy skin.

We’ve talked about the importance of your diet. You need to be eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables along with those other less healthy things in your diet to increase your intake of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and other important substances found in plants to increase the overall health of your skin.

And we’ve talked about the importance of exercise to your skin health. It does a number of things that are very beneficial to your skin, like improving your blood circulation.

And both an improvement in diet and more exercise are great skin care tips, because they improve your overall health whilst improving your skin health too.

However here’s today’s number 1 skin care tip. Water.

Firstly it’s important to drink enough water. Some suggest 8 glasses a day. Whilst we don’t subscribe to the counting method you ought to be including regular glasses of water to your daily routine. Skin hydration is very important, and whilst water isn’t the only factor in skin hydration, it’s very important. Drinking enough water every day is important to your skin health.

And we offer water as our skin care tip for the day for a particular reason.

Everyone seems to think that it’s important to drink bottled water now. Sales of bottled water have skyrocketed over the last few years, and it seems that everyone needs to be seen with that brand name bottle of water.

We personally haven’t been so taken by the bottled water craze, preferring regular old water, after hearing a number of reports that many bottled waters are no better, or worse, than water taken from the faucet.

Here’s a study you might find interesting. Find it here, a study on bottled water by the Environment Working Group.

This study found contaminants in EVERY brand of bottled water tested. Some contaminants exceeded state limits on contaminants in bottled water. Bottled water contained, on average, 8 different chemicals.

And they point out that although you’re paying up to 1900 times the price for bottled water it may be no better for you than water from the hose.

That’s not to say tap water is perfect of course, but it sounds like bottled water is no better.

So, skin care tip for the day? Drink plenty of water, and don’t drink bottled water. Read the rest of this entry

Men are starting to care for their skin now. It wouldn’t have happened in my day!

By Peter, an editor of Natural Health – Natural Skin Care.

Men’s skin care is big business now. Bit by bit men are starting to realize that they too should be taking care of themselves.

It wouldn’t have happened when I was young! Back then, (a long time ago), men were real men. They ate a lot of steak, went to the doctor if they were about to die, usually just before, and went camping and shooting a lot.

Skin care? What was that? Skincare was women’s business. And the same with fashion. Mens fashion was a new pair of jeans, and about the only skin products men would be seen using was shaving cream.

Now men, (including me) are starting to wake up to skin care and lots of other things. For my part, I did lot of silly things to my skin, but then we didn’t know any better. I got burned over and over again, for example.

Now I’m a candidate for skin cancer, and my dad has already had it.

So skin care is now an issue for men. Me included.

And we need to take overall care for ourselves too. For my part I now take much more care of myself. I limit the steak, try and keep fit and visit the doctor for checkup every year.

Mens fashion/grooming has come of age. Men’s skinĀ  care products are hot now.

This includes a wide range of mens grooming products, including hair care, nail care, facial care and various other mens grooming, fashion and skin products, including shaving products.

Men’s skin has many of the same issues as women’s skin. And there are many of the same solutions. Often for a man it’s as much about health as it is about looks, but for many men now taking care of their skin is about looks as well, particularly as they age.

As skin is skin, high quality men’s skin care products utilize many of the same techniques and ingredients that womens anti aging skin care products use. And these mens anti aging skincare products work extremely well for men too.

Note, however, that I said “high quality” mens anti aging skincare products. The big brand name products generally aren’t high quality, and as we’ve pointed out here often, can contain the same harmful ingredients that womens skincare products often contain.

Luckily Xtend Life have also released a range of mens skin care products that are every bit as good as their womens skin care products. Natural skin care products for men that don’t contain harmful ingredients, and work better than the big brand name products do too.

So if you’re a man, or perhaps a woman thinking about your man, be thankful. Men are now beginning to wake up to the importance of high quality mens skin care, and are, slowly, beginning to use skin care products to their advantage. Read the rest of this entry
