The Best Skin Care For Winter. Avoid Sunburn.

It’s winter, it’s cold, but you still need to take care of your skin. Winter skin care.

We’ve talked a lot about taking care of your skin. By taking care of your skin we don’t necessarily mean using the best skin care products, although that’s a big part of it. We mean taking some basic day to day steps to care for the health of your skin.

And one of the biggest ones is avoiding sunburn. Sunburn is one of the worst things you can do for your skin. Sunburn damages your skin in many ways, and speeds up the skin aging process. And at worst it can kill you from skin cancer.

But now it’s winter, you couldn’t get sunburned in winter could you? Yes of course you could. Scientists are beginning to understand more and more how easy it is to get burned by the UV rays from the sun, and this includes winter. Yes you can get sunburned in winter.

And the easiest place to get your skin burned in winter is in the snow. Snow reflects the rays of the sun, they bounce right back up at your face and as well as getting burned on the face you can also get sunburned under the chin.

Yes, believe it or not, you can get burned under the chin, and it hurts. But it’s as bad as sunburn anywhere else.

Remember, sunburn is one of the worst things you can do to your skin, summer or winter.

So make sure you take care of your skin in winter too. Protect yourself from the sun with a good hat, long sleeved shirts and, where absolutely necessary, sunscreen.

Of course you need to use the best natural skin care products you can get, that’s an all year round requirement, but that’s not enough.

Protect your skin from sunburn all year. You’ll be glad you did. More on The Best Skin Care For Winter. Avoid Sunburn.

Collagen And It’s Role In Great Skin Care.

If you’ve read about skin care you’ll come across the role of collagen. What is collagen, what does it do and do collagen supplements work?

Collagen. It’s one of the most important proteins in our bodies, and in our skin. Collagen basically holds us together.

You’ll find collagen in most areas of our bodies. Collagen exists in our bones, our cartilege, our teeth, tendons, blood vessels and more, including, of course, our skin.

Collagen is a very strong protein, and forms strands or fibers which are extremely strong, and add to our bodies ability to hold itself together.

And in our skin collagen, along with other essential skin components like elastin, helps maintain our skin strength and elasticity.

When we age we lose collagen in our skin, and elastin, and so our stores of skin collagen and elastin deplete. So, for example, our skin loses it’s ability to hold itself together quite as well, and is less elastic. It begins to sag under the influence of gravity, and this is what causes our wrinkles and lines and crows feet that we see beginning to form on our faces as we age.

So obviously if we lose collagen and elastin as we age, and this loss of collagen and elastin causes skin problems like wrinkles, we need to supplement our collagen and elastin stores to reduce the aging effect.

Yes absolutely. But here’s the rub. It’s not that easy. And although it’s possible to buy various products with collagen in them, like collagen pills or collagen supplements and many brands of anti aging skin care products, they don’t really add to our skin collagen, so don’t work.

Here’s an interesting article about collagen in our skin, as well as other parts of our body, and about how it works, (or doesn’t).

So what about collagen in skincare products? Doesn’t that replace our lost skin collagen? Sadly no. You’ll see from that article that collagen molecules (and elastin molecules) are too big to penetrate the skin, so remain on the skin surface. They do nothing.

Actually that’s not true. They do something. They help sell the product because people buy products like moisturizers, night creams and other skin care creams and anti aging creams if they see collagen and elastin listed on the label. And that’s why they’re there.

But they do nothing for your skin.

That’s why Cynergy TK is such a stunning new innovation in skin care. For the first time it’s possible to improve our skin’s  store of collagen, not by just rubbing collagen on or taking collagen pills or collagen supplements, but by actually stimulating the skin to produce more of it’s own collagen.

It’s a complete breakthrough in skin care. One of the most important discoveries in skin care science ever.

And why don’t the big brand skincare companies use Cynergy TK? More on Collagen And It’s Role In Great Skin Care.

Wrinkle Correction Treatments. Risky And Expensive

There are a number of modern wrinkle correction treatments. Should you use one?

So you’re getting older, and you’re worried about wrinkles. And you’re wondering about some of these so called modern wrinkle correction procedures.

Lets have a look at some of your options for wrinkle correction:

Botox.

Botox injections for wrinkles have been in the news a lot lately. Lets see what botox for wrinkles involves.

1. Who knows? Although no one really knows, I would expect that botox wrinkle correction isn’t a lifelong solution to wrinkles. No one knows because it’s a relatively new procedure. We would like to see some more data on the long term results of botox before we let anyone near our faces with botox filled needles.

2. Pain. Relatively obvious. They will claim it’s pain free, but injections in your face?

3. Cost. Botox has to cost a bomb. And as it’s unlikely that it will be a permanent solutions it’s likely that you will have to keep getting it done over time. More cost.

4. Safety. There are official warnings about the safey of botox and deaths linked to it’s use.

Cosmetic surgery.

Now of course you can always head off to your local plastic surgery center and find yourself a cosmetic surgeon who will do a face lift. It won’t be hard to find a cosmetic surgeon to do it, they make big money from cosmetic surgery like face lifts to correct wrinkles.

What are the risks of cosmetic surgery for wrinkle correction?

1. Pain. Enough said.

2. Cost. Plastic surgery will also cost you a bomb, and like botox it’s unlikely that it will be a lifetime wrinkle correction solution. You will probably need to have it done a number of times, and it will probably cost tens or hundreds of thousands over time.

3. Problems. Plastic surgery isn’t infallible, and there have been failures. And a failure can be very hard to correct, even by another plastic surgeon.

And a comment that applies to both cosmetic surgery and botox. Have you seen some of the very public failures of both botox and cosmetic facial surgery? High profile people who look disfigured both from poor cosmetic procedures and botox. Do you want to risk looking like that?

Cosmetic procedures like facial fillers and dermal fillers for wrinkle correction.

We have just been reading a review by the Medical College of Wisconsin about these wrinkle correction procedures. They involve using fine needles to inject chemicals just under the skin to help smooth those wrinkles and make the face look more youthful.

Usually they are applied to around a third of the face, mainly around the eyes, mouth and jawline. Chemicals like hyaluronic acid and other dermal fillers are often applied by a cosmetic surgeon, but you should be sure to find a good plastic surgery center if you’re thinking of getting it done.

All the same comments apply. Cost. How long will it be likely to last? What happens when it fails? What will you look like if it all goes wrong? And what are the risks of dermal fillers and facial fillers for wrinkle correction?

So if you’re looking for some serious wrinkle correction what do you do?

Firstly we think that you need to come to some acceptance of the fact that as you age you will look older. Undertaking some of the modern wrinkle correction treatments is highly risky and expensive, and it hurts. The risks outweigh the benefits.

And use high quality natural skin care and anti aging products and natural anti wrinkle products. There are some excellent ones around, that don’t use dangerous ingredients, and work well, guaranteed. More on Wrinkle Correction Treatments. Risky And Expensive

Botox Injections For Wrinkles. The Perfect Anti Aging Treatment?

Botox epitomizes the “hope in a bottle” syndrome. Is it worth getting botox injections for wrinkles?

Lots of us want to look younger and despise the wrinkles, lines and crowsfeet that form on our faces as we age.

Unfortunately for us, aging isn’t reversible, and although it’s nice to look better we have to accept our fate as we age. We will look older.

That’s only true to a degree however. There are some very simple steps we can take to both lessen the visible effects of our aging, and make ourselves healthier at the same time.

We’ve talked about changing our diet, increasing the amount of exercise do and taking some essential supplements like Omega 3.

And using high quality natural skin care products. There are some excellent skin care products available now that are extremely effective.

But should we consider botox injections for wrinkles? Aren’t there so many “stars” who’ve had botox injections and look so much younger now?

There’s 3 comments we’d like to make for those thinking of getting botox injections for wrinkles.

Firstly you have to think about the long term. Botox injections may get rid of some wrinkles now, but what about the future? How confident are you that the looks that you achieve now will carry on into the future?

What about in 10 years time? 20 years? 30 years?

There seems to be little data available about the long term effects of botox, and without significant results from studies we wouldn’t let a botox needle anywhere near our skin.

Because if it all goes bottom up in a few years it’s too late, and you may end up looking just terrible for a major portion of your life, just for the perceived benefit now.

Secondly, do you really think those women, (and men), who you see in the magazines who’ve had botox injections for wrinkles REALLY  look better? Sure the wrinkles are reduced, but do they actually look any better? We don’t.

And thirdly, are you aware of the risks of taking botox injections? There’s warnings on the label, but of course the warnings are the minimum they can get away with.

Are you aware that botox injections have been linked to deaths? That the organization Public Citizen, the non profit consumer advocacy organization, has issued warnings about botox injections linking botox to serious side effects that can include death?

So if you’re thinking of getting botox injections for wrinkles, we would caution you to think very hard about it, and do some serious research before you jump into botox injections. More on Botox Injections For Wrinkles. The Perfect Anti Aging Treatment?
