Does your diet affect your skin health?

As women age they start to turn their mind to such things as skin care and anti aging care. Suddenly they start to understand why their mothers had all those bottles of skin care products on the shelf.

But if you’re aging, and wondering about good skin care, there’s more that you need to think about.

Like your diet.

What does your diet have to do with your skin? Well your diet affects your general health, and your general health affects your skin health. An unhealthy body won’t support skin that is glowing with health and youth. Diets for aging skin care are about eating to stay healthy.

How do you do that? You just follow the general recommendations for a good diet for general health. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, keep saturated fats low, less sugar and salt. Keep coffee intake moderate.

Drink plenty of water too. Exercise regularly.

It sounds just like what you should do to keep healthy generally doesn’t it? It is.

You don’t need to go onto a fancy raw food diet, you don’t need to go vegetarian. Eat sensibly. There are plenty of places where you can find general guides to a good diet, the US Department of Agriculture has one, but I think you know what the guidelines are.

Eat plenty of different types of fresh fruit and vegetables, especially with different colors, as different colors contain different nutrients. Buy fresh, as fresh as possible.

Anti aging skin care is about keeping healthy to keep your skin healthy. And at the same time you’ll lose those extra pounds and maybe even prevent heart disease as well, which is a big bonus. If you’re looking for great skin care tips this is as big a tip as you can get.

Other than using the best skin care products and anti aging products of course.

Combine a great diet, plenty of exercise and the worlds best skincare products and anti aging products you can get and you’ve got the ideal skin care regime to keep your skin healthy and looking young for years. Read the rest of this entry

Does honey have properties that make it a great natural part of a skin care routine?

Honey, wonderful to eat but should you put it on your face for great skin care?

Honey has some naturally occuring properties that are extremely useful in good skin care. It has a range of beneficial anti oxidants, as well as a wide range of enzymes and also anti bacterial properties.

These are all good for your skin. But not all honeys contain these ingredients and the honey you find in your local store probably contains none of them.

That’s because it’s pasteurized and so the active ingredients are killed. And the active ingredients vary widely between different types of honey.

The very best honey is active Manuka honey from the Manuka bush in New Zealand. It has the highest levels of active ingredients of any honey.

Xtend Life add active Manuka Honey to their very successful range of natural skin care products, along with Xtend TK, the miracle ingredient that helps stimulate the skin to make more collagen and elastin itself.

Active Manuka honey actually helps the skin to regenerate the collagen and elastin that is created by the Xtend TK in the skin care products, as well as assisting in minimizing the effects of free radical damage on the skin due to the anti oxidants.

And the active ingredients in Manuka Honey can help stimulate the immune system to work better as well, and this helps nourish the skin and make it look and feel younger. Read the rest of this entry
